Easy Better-for-You Choices

You don’t have to change your whole routine to start a better-for-you life. There are easy adjustments you can make throughout the day. In partnership with Honey Nut Cheerios, here’s a cheat sheet to help get you started.

Morning:

Get moving—even if it’s just a few minutes of stretching. It will help get your heart rate up and energize you.

Start the day with beta-glucan—a soluble fiber found in whole grain oats that can help lower cholesterol as part of a heart healthy diet. The FDA recommends 3 grams daily. Get .75g of beta-glucan with a bowl of Honey Nut Cheerios.

Night:

Put the phone away an hour before bed. Artificial light can suppress melatonin, which helps you sleep.

Try a sleep mask. Reducing light can help keep your sleep cycle regular.

Anytime Ideas:

Take a break every now and then and focus on a few deep breaths.

Take the stairs instead of the elevator whenever possible.
