Wiggle
by Doreen Cronin, illustrated by Scott Menchin: Doreen Cronin gets children wiggling
and giggling throughout this entertaining romp with dogs, maracas, gorillas, pancakes, fish,
crocodiles, butterflies and more! The rhythmic prose and creative, colorful and wiggle-inducing
illustrations are a treat for toddlers and parents alike. A 2005 Bccb Blue Ribbon Book Award
winner, Chicago Public Library "Best of the Best Books of 2005",
and a Please Touch Museum Book Award winner. For ages 1-4. |

Olivia ... and the Missing Toy
written and illustrated by Ian Falconer: The New Yorker cartoonist
and Caldecott Honor artist Ian Falconer tells another entertaining story about Olivia the pig – this
one beginning with Olivia’s obsession with having her mother sew her a red soccer shirt
(even though the team color is green). Shortly after the shirt is completed, however,
Olivia discovers that her favorite toy is missing. The story describes her efforts to
find her toy – under the rug, the sofa, and even the cat – as well as her reaction when
she finally does … in the grips of the beloved family dog Perry. An
IRA/CBC Chidren's Choice and Junior Library Guild
selection. For ages 3-7.

The Tiny Seed
written and illustrated by Eric Carle: This picture book brings the miracle of
nature, through the journey of a tiny seed, to children. Complete with Eric Carle’s world-renown
illustrations, we watch as flower pods burst in the autumn, dispatching their seeds on the wind.
As the seeds slowly make their way across the land and through seasons, we watch as other
larger seeds fail and the tiny seed succeeds in its journey – growing to a giant flower, and
inevitably, bursting with seeds and beginning the circle of life once again. For ages 4-8. |

Horace and Morris Join the Chorus (but what about Dolores?)
by James Howe, illustrated by Amy
Walrod: When the three mice friends try out for the school chorus, Dolores, with her tendency
to sing "notes no one had ever heard before," doesn't make the cut. In an effort to join her
friends in the chorus, she writes a letter to chorus director “Moustro Provolone," asking him to
reconsider. The letter impresses Moustro Provolone – so much so, in fact, he decides it would
make great lyrics for a song. The song, which features Dolores, proves that
"everyone has a place in the chorus!" A Publishers Weekly
and School Library Journal Best Book. For ages 4-8. |

Little Quack’s Bedtime
by Lauren Thompson, illustrated by Derek Anderson:
New York Times best-selling author Lauren Thompson tells
another much-loved tale of Mama Duck and her five ducklings, Widdle, Waddle, Piddle, Puddle, and
Little Quack, as Mama tries to coax the ducklings to sleep on a summer
evening. There are a few interruptions along the way that keep the ducklings awake, but sooner or
later, all of the ducklings – even Little Quack! – drift off to sleep. Cheerios had this book
specially printed in both English and Spanish. For ages 2-6. |
One of these paperback books will be available inside each Cheerios cereal box marked "Spoonfuls of Stories®,"
which are expected to be on shelves between November 2006 and early spring 2007. The books are specially sized
to fit inside cereal boxes, and feature all the original content and illustrations. Families can see which book
is in the box through a special cut-out window on the front of the box ~ so they can pick the exact book they
want, or collect all five titles. And, First Book donation forms are featured on every box, on the side panel.
