Steven A. Dowshen, MD, is chief medical editor of The Nemours Center for
Children’s Health Media, where he oversees the medical review process of
numerous editorial projects. His projects at Nemours include serving as medical
editor of the KidsHealth Web site; associate editor-in-chief of Charles
Scribner’s Sons Human Diseases and Conditions, a three-volume
encyclopedia for middle and high school students; lead author of KidsHealth
Guide for Parents: Birth to Age 5 to be published by McGraw-Hill in
2002; and editor/author of other books, chapters, and articles on health topics
pertaining to children.
Dr. Dowshen received his BS from Pennsylvania State University in State College,
Pennsylvania, and MD from Jefferson Medical College of the Thomas Jefferson
University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He completed his residency in
pediatrics and fellowship training in pediatric endocrinology and metabolism at
St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
