The simple things are what make life great. That’s why the majority of ingredients in Cheerios® cereal include food substances whose names you will recognize like whole grain oats, sugar, salt and wheat starch (a thickener commonly used in home recipes). These are similar to the collection of ingredients you'll see in a lot of baked goods. You may not recognize Tripotassium Phosphate. It's a food emulsifier. It does the same thing as eggs, which are mixed into most baking recipes in order to hold substances like oil and water together. Vitamin E, specifically in the form of mixed tocopherols, is also included as a way of preserving freshness. Cheerios cereal is enriched with a variety of vitamins and minerals like Iron, Zinc and Vitamins A, B, C and D.
Additionally, all Cheerios cereal varieties have at least 14 grams of whole grain per serving (at least 48 grams recommended daily). The differences across varieties are the types of whole grain and other ingredients like spices and flavors.*
